The frequency of social forms varies across habitat types. Monogyne colonies are more frequent on islands and in steppes, while polygyne colonies are more frequent in riverbeds and flooded areas. The proportion of single-queen colonies per plot is indicated, for each habitat category. Dots correspond to plots in which F. selysi colonies were sampled, and N indicates the total number of colonies sampled in each habitat category
